A gentle comic fable about family, food and fulfilling your potential, The BBQ follows laid-back suburban everyman Dazza, grilling and marinating his way through an international barbecue competition (and into our hearts) as he works to repair his charred reputation.
Starring Shane Jacobson, whose box office hits include Oddball and Kenny, and Magda Szubanski, one Australia’s favourite comic actresses (Babe, Kath & Kim), The BBQ is directed by Victorian Stephen Amis who also produced the feature alongside Tait Brady and Lynne Wilson.
Supported through Film Victoria’s Assigned Production Investment program and Regional Location Assistance Fund, filming took place in the Victorian regions of Wodonga and Mitta Mitta.
The BBQ will have sneak previews at selected cinemas over the Australia Day weekend before its general release on 22 February. Watch the trailer and check their website for screening updates.
