GALLIPOLI

Film & TV  12 Mar 2014

Gallipoli, an epic television miniseries about the historic WWI campaign, began filming in March 2014.

The eight hour series, produced by Endemol Australia, was secured with the support of our Production Incentive Attraction Fund and shot in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The shoot lasted three months and engaged more than 750 local practitioners, generating an estimated $14.6 million in Victorian production expenditure.

The series dramatised ten months of the Australian forces’ World War I campaign in Turkey, and aired on the Nine Network in 2015 – the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli.

Gallipoli was produced by John Edwards (Offspring; Howzat: Kerry Packer's War) with Imogen Banks (Offspring; Puberty Blues) and Robert Connelly (The Turning; Underground: the Julian Assange Story).

The series was directed by Glendyn Ivin (Puberty Blues; Beaconsfield) with a script by Christopher Lee (Howzat: Kerry Packer's War; Rush).
