Victorian screenwriters Trudy Hellier and Elise McCredie have been selected to attend the CineStory Foundation 2016 TV/Digital Retreat in Idyllwild, California.
This special initiative from Film Victoria and CineStory Foundation provides $10,000 for up to two mid-career Victorian television writers, who are developing their own original television projects, to attend the retreat in late April.
During the retreat, Hellier and McCredie will take part in a number of activities to further develop their professional writing skills, which will include participating in a simulated “writer’s room”, one-on-one mentoring and seminars covering industry skills such as pitching.
Both writers will be working on a specific narrative television project during the retreat. The intensive development opportunity offered by the retreat should increase each project’s potential for commissioning.
Is a US non-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing screenwriters through mentorship. They equip participating TV/digital writers with the skills to find professional work and build networks, whilst sharing intelligence to assist them in an ever-changing media landscape.
