Career Summary

Katharina Keil, is a German Australian citizen with more than 25 years of drama production experience. Her long list of Australian and international credits includes award-winning films, such as The Dressmaker, Looking for Alibrandi, Feeling Sexy and box office hits, such as Jerry Bruckheimer’s Kangaroo Jack. Among her television experience in both Australia and Germany, are such series, as Nowhere Boys, Puberty Blues and Underbelly: Squizzy, the telenovelas Bianca-Wege zum Glück, Verliebt in Berlin and telemovies such as Rosamunde Pilcher: Aus Liebe und Leidenschaft, Black Jack, The Farm, Dripping in Chocolate and many other internationally acclaimed short films. Possessing an adventurous spirit, Katharina loves travelling almost as much as she loves the film and television industry. Her strong work ethic, her sense of humor, her ability to work as a team with film professionals from diverse backgrounds and her strong sense of storytelling have allowed her to indulge both passions throughout her career. Fluent in English and German, Katharina has worked on television and feature film drama productions in Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom and South Africa, primarily in her capacities as script supervisor and first assistant director. Katharina has also written, directed and produced six short comedies and enjoyed the success of screenings at festivals and international sales to Canal+. Katharina returned to Australia in 2009 from Europe and, while working on television productions, began producing and developing her own ideas for television and digital platforms.
