Career Summary

Angus Kemp is an Australian film director and cinematographer with a deep musical sensibility. He has worked as a director for over 10 years, primarily collaborating on film projects in the dance, documentary, music, and art genres. He has also spent 27 years working as a professional cinematographer. In this time, Angus has shot several feature films including Making Infinity (2023), Motorkite Dreaming (2016), and Strange Birds in Paradise: A West Papuan Story (2009) for which he was nominated for an Australian AFI award. Performance has always been a big part of Angus's life, first as an actor; working on theatre productions and commercials as a child. Then as a musician; as a keyboardist, vocalist and drummer across many bands and styles for over 25 years, including performing music for screen. Angus draws on his experiences as a performer and musician to bring the story to life.
