Career Summary
Liam Fitzgibbon is a queer award-winning Director, Editor, Writer and Composer from Melbourne, Australia. During his time at The Victorian College of the Arts, Liam’s short film Skullcrush, starring Geraldine Hickey, went on to win awards and feature in multiple film festivals around the world (including the WTF SHORTS program at the Melbourne International Film Festival 2017).
Since then Liam has worked on a large range of video content including music video, film, advertising, documentary, theatre and television. Liam is the director for sketch group Hot Department. In 2020 they collaborated on sketches for the ABC’s series At Home Alone Together. Hot Department were recently awarded Development Funding from Screen Australia for an eight-part comedy series, HOME, which Liam will direct and edit.
