Michael Beets's work has been screened at festivals around the world including Cannes, Toronto International Film Festival, Kaleidoscope World Tour, and the Melbourne International Film Festival. He is also one of the recipients of Screen Australia’s 2017 Hot Shots funding for his upcoming interactive work titled ‘The Unknown Patient’.
Michael Beets is a Director for film, immersive content and digital experiences. He strives on keeping up to date with new technologies, and seeing how traditional storytelling can be converged with new media. Based in Melbourne, Australia, his 10 years in filmmaking and theatre has seen Michael work as a Director in a variety of projects around the world including feature films, TVCs, television, documentaries, and his own personal film and theatre projects. These positions have taken him to places such as Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, Australia, and Singapore to create content that moves and inspires people.

Michael is able to work in a variety of technical capacities. Having begun his career as an editor/ shooter he has a good understanding of camera and editing systems. He is also able to work and communicate with front end and back end developers within game environments such as unity and unreal.
