VicScreen is proud to support First Peoples creators, practitioners, game developers and businesses through our First Peoples Strategy, programs and initiatives. We are committed to advancing self-determination, protecting story sovereignty, and fostering culturally safe, equitable opportunities that empower First Peoples voices, stories and leadership across the screen sector.

First Peoples Strategy

The VicScreen First Peoples Screen Strategy 2026–2030 is a commitment to strengthen a thriving, self-determined First Peoples screen sector in Victoria. Shaped by extensive consultation it sets a clear pathway to support First Peoples creators, businesses and communities through increased opportunities, investment and decision-making power, while addressing systemic barriers across the screen industry. Building on the legacy of generations of First Peoples practitioners, the Strategy is both a call to action and a commitment to a future where First Peoples stories are created, owned and celebrated on their own terms.
