Held in Melbourne on 17 August, the event was an opportunity for women from across Victoria’s screen industry to hear from Screen Australia’s Fiona Cameron and Nerida Moore on the Gender Matters initiatives and learn more about the opportunities available through Brilliant Careers – a funding stream focused on creating infrastructure and business support around women.
Chaired by CEO Jenni Tosi, the panel included several recipients of Brilliant Careers funding who talked about the opportunities available to Victorian women through their initiatives:
- Sue Maslin: President, The Natalie Miller Fellowship, Natalie Miller Fellowship Brilliant Careers Leadership Program
- Imogen Banks: Producer, Endemol Shine Australia, Smart for a Girl – ROAR
- Samantha Lang: Board President, Australian Directors Guild, Gender Careers for Screen Practitioners
- Tracey Mair: Director, The Goodship Agency
The panel discussion also covered pathways available to help grow careers in a meaningful way and create employment opportunities for women across the screen industry, and was followed by a Q&A session and networking.
